County Tyrone

Ancient and long-established woods clothe the valleys of the south Sperrins, and Co Tyrone also boasts several large estates with spectacular parkland and woodland, but many of these sites are not open to the public. One of the largest areas of ancient and long-established woodland is Brantry Wood. This is now a conifer site, but there is strong historical evidence that it is ancient.
